history

The club was founded in 1945 and in 1953 reached the district class West for one year . After being promoted to the now 2nd Amateur League West , the Wesselburener became champions in 1961. In the following round of promotion to the Schleswig-Holstein State League , however, only one victory was achieved. A year later, the team rose back from bottom of the table in the district league. It was not until 1978 that the promotion succeeded, which was followed two years later by promotion to the Landesliga Süd . In the same year, the blue-whites lost 3-1 to TSV Plön in the SHFV cup final .

Despite the defeat, the team qualified for the DFB-Pokal, in which they had to travel to the upper division SV Atlas Delmenhorst in the first round and lost 6-2. In the regional league, third place was immediately taken. But instead of a possible further promotion, the team fought in the following years against relegation, which had to be accepted in 1990. Blue-White returned three years later and in 1995 was runner-up behind BSC Brunsbüttel . The relegation games for promotion to the Schleswig-Holstein Association League were lost against SV Ellerbek .

After the dissolution of the national leagues in 1999, the Wesselburener were grouped into the newly created regional upper league West . The team played there until the league was dissolved in 2008 and then joined the newly created Association League South-West . There, the blue-whites were relegated in the first season and managed to get back up immediately in 2010. In 2013 he was relegated to the district league West, which was followed two years later by going to the district classes.
