The Bleichröderpark in the Berlin district of Pankow is an approximately 1.1  hectare park. The park was redesigned in 2002/2003, taking into account existing trees, and was given its name at an opening ceremony on April 25, 2003. Residential buildings border the park to the east and west.

Naming and history

The Bleichröderpark is located in the district of Berlin-Pankow , between the properties at Breite Straße 34 and Schulstraße 9-11. A significant part of the park was built on the former property of the Jewish Bleichröder family , who lived here until they were expropriated by the National Socialists . After 1945, and especially during the GDR era , the former garden was used as a park. Before it was redesigned after the fall of the Wall , it was largely sealed.

The Pankow district honored with the naming of the park the special social commitment of the family of banker Julius Bleichröder and his son Fritz Bleichröder .

construction

The park area is divided into three areas, an area with a playground, a play and sunbathing area and a forest garden .
