Blindead is a Polish progressive and death-doom band from Gdynia , which was founded in 1999 under the name Incorrect Personality .
history
The band was founded in 1999 by bassist Michał "Winters" Zimorski and guitarist Mateusz "Havoc" Śmierzchalski under the name Incorrect Personality. A few months later, the guitarist Marek "Deadmana" Zieliński, the drummer Konrad Ciesielski and the singer Patryk Adamczyk joined the band. A first demo followed in winter 2000. In 2002, the group began work on their first album, which was interrupted because singer Adamczyk left the band. In the same year, the band instead recorded a second demo with producer Arkadiusz "Malta" Malczewski. The Norwegian Lars Eikindowi was supposed to join the band as a new singer , but this failed due to the distance. As a replacement for Adamczyk, Patryk “Nick Wolverine” Zwoliński came in mid-2004 as the new singer. After two months, the group changed their name to Blindead and recorded the Dig for Me demo . After Śmierzchalski played his last tour with Behemoth , he was able to concentrate completely on Blindead, which made more regular rehearsals possible. In January 2004 bassist Zimorski left the band, who was replaced by Rafał "Brovar" "Frost" Brauer, who was already active at Behemoth and Immemorial , among others . In July 2005 the band went to Dębica in the Screw Factory Studio to release their debut album Devouring Weakness in July of the following year on Empire Records . The publication was followed by a tour of Poland. After eleven appearances, however, the bassist Brauer left the band and was replaced by Piotr "Zvierzak" "The Animal" Kawalerowski. Bartosz Hervy also joined the band as a keyboardist. In November 2006 the band went on tour together with Hermh , Hell-Born and MasseMord . In 2007 the band went on a tour of the Middle East with Nyia , Antigama and Tehace . In August of that year, the group returned to the Screw Factory Studio to record seven new songs. At the end of 2007 the band could be heard on the sampler Shortcut to Polish Music . The band also played with The Ocean and Thema Eleven in Wroclaw and a few months later with Cult of Luna in Warsaw and Wroclaw . In June 2008 the group signed a contract with Deadline Records , which in August released the album Autoscopia / Murder In Phazes . Four days earlier the band played with Neurosis in Warsaw . In April 2009 the EP Group Impulse was published . In May, a tour with Vader was announced for the fall of that year, but it did not take place. In October 2010 the group signed a contract with Mystic Production . In November of the same year, the album Affliction XXIX II MXMVI was released . The next album Absence was released on the same label in 2013 .
style
According to Steve Herrmann from metal-observer.com, the band plays progressive Doom Metal on Impulse , with white noise often being used in the songs . Enrico Ahlig from Metal Hammer assigned the band to Progressive Metal. Growling is used as vocals . In the seemingly depressed songs, instruments from other genres such as a double bass or a trumpet were used. The lyrics would deal with the story of an autistic girl.
