The Bloch Peak is a prominent mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Deep Freeze Range, it rises between the Priestley Glacier and the western part of the Tourmaline Plateau .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1990 after Erich Bloch (1925-2016), from 1984 to 1990 director of the National Science Foundation , which played a key role in the development of the United States Antarctic Program .
