Blossenau is a Kirchdorf district of the municipality Tagmersheim in the district of Donau-Ries in the administrative region of Swabia in Bavaria .

history

Originally, Blossenau was a clearing settlement and was called Ploss en awe ("treeless meadow"). This is where the current name Blossenau arose . The area around this place belonged to the county of Lechsgemünd-Graisbach ; Count Diepold had it cleared around 1185 and a settlement built.

The church village was an independent municipality in the former Donauwörth district until July 1, 1972, and on that day it was added to the Donau-Ries district and incorporated into Tagmersheim .

Infrastructure

Blossenau is a rural village . Most of the houses are located along the Dorfstrasse, which was an important connecting road at the time of the Romans and is therefore called the Römerstrasse. In the middle is the village green with the church and the former school.
