Blue Hors Matiné ( June 21, 1997 - January 25, 2010 ) was a Danish warmblood mare , ridden by the Danish dressage rider Andreas Helgstrand.
Life
The gray mare was born on June 21, 1997 at the breeder Inger Katballe in Denmark. Matiné completed her first Grand Prix in 2006 at the tender age of nine.
In the same year, Matiné caused a sensation at the 2006 World Equestrian Games . Together with Andreas Helgstrand she won the bronze medal in the Grand Prix Special and the silver medal in the freestyle . The video of this exam was viewed more than 9 million times between 2006 and 2009. In 2019 there were almost 20 million views, which is very unusual for a dressage video. Due to their exceptional programs and their outstanding passages and piaffes Matiné was designated as a dancer.
Blue Hors Matiné was a gray mare, registered in the stud book for the Danish Warmblood (DWB). She seemed very sensitive and mostly stressed during the exams, as she often hit her tail .
In the winter season 2006-2007 she took part in only a few competitions, after which her career ended abruptly. In April 2007, Blue Hors Matiné was injured in Las Vegas and was unable to recover. She was officially retired from the sport in August 2009 and went into breeding.
Matiné died on January 25, 2010 after a pasture accident in which she broke her leg .
Sporting successes
Blue Hors Matiné's sports career was very short, but very successful. On the Eurodressage website, it is compared to a shooting star .
- 2006: Bronze medal (Grand Prix Special) and silver medal (freestyle) at the World Equestrian Games 2006 à Aachen ; 4th
place with the team - March 2007: 2nd place at the Grand Prix de dressage in Bois-le-Duc ; 2nd place in the Grand Prix Freestyle.
Breeding career
In 2010 Matiné became a broodmare at the Blue Hors stud. It was planned to have her inseminated by Blue Hors Zack in spring 2010 .
