Blues Summit is an album that BB King recorded for MCA in 1993.

General

The title Blues Summit refers to BB King's guest musicians, who are greats of the blues scene. In addition to their instrumental contributions, they also make vocal contributions in duets with King. Robert Cray wrote the album's opener, the title of which already expressed what should be done (Playin 'With My Friends) . In the same year a concert was recorded under the same title, which took place at BB King's Blues Club in Memphis and was released on DVD in 2000.

A special feature of this album is the duet with John Lee Hooker, as the two musicians are stylistically miles apart, although they have been friends for decades. But Kings manager Sid Seidenberg was convinced the job would work and he was able to persuade BB King and John Lee Hooker to try a duet.
