description

Information board

The dolomite rock has a size of about five by five meters and is up to one meter high. In the middle of the rock is a straight channel about 30 centimeters deep and 1.5 meters long. The place is associated with a Celtic sanctuary . According to legend, people were once sacrificed here.

From a source from the 18th century it can be deduced that a temple with a surrounding moat should have been here in the past. Below the gutter there was therefore a hole in which the blood of the sacrificed people drained through the gutter.

It is documented that under the pastor of Hechlingen, Johann Michael Heller (1719 to 1736), these relics were removed and used for other buildings.

The karst phenomenon is a near-tourist destination and designated as a cultural monument ; There is an information board on site. Access is only possible via hiking trail number 18. South of the channel is a fenced-in area, the BMW Enduro Park Hechlingen, and blocks access.
