The Bni Nsar was a ferry built in Japan in 1972 and was in service for the Comanav ferry company until September 2010 . After the shipping company went bankrupt, the ship was decommissioned and scrapped in Aliağa, Turkey, in 2014 .

history

The launched Bni Nsar in Sète, July 2013

The Bni Nsar was built in 1972 as Ferry Akashi at Kanda Shipbuilding in Kure . Under this name, the ship remained in service for the Japanese shipping company Hanku Ferry for almost twenty years , until it was sold as Dame M to the Greek shipping company Marlines in 1991 and used on the route from Ancona to Patras .

In 1996 the ship was chartered to the Moroccan ferry company Comanav . It then returned to service for Marlines. In 1999 the Lady M was bought by Pilot Shipping in Limassol and renamed Salamis Star . In 2005, Comanav acquired the Salamis Star and renamed it Marrakech Express . The ship was henceforth used on the route from Sète to Nador .

In 2010 the name of the ship was changed to Bni Nsar . However, the route of the ship remained the same. In September 2010, Comanav was dissolved after the parent company Comarit had to file for bankruptcy. The Bni Nsar was therefore along with the other ships in the fleet launched .

After almost four years of lay in Sète, the ship was towed to Aliağa, Turkey, in July 2014 and scrapped there in the following months.

Sister ship

The sister ship of Bni Nsar was the last as Felicia used Ferry Nagato . She had a much shorter period of service than her sister ship and was scrapped in Aliağa in 2003.
