history
Comarit was founded in Tangier in 1984 as a subsidiary of Fred. Olsen & Co. founded. Initially, the shipping company only owned a single, second-hand ship. It was not until 1988 that Comarit's fleet was expanded through further acquisitions.
Comarit used its ships between Morocco, Spain, France and Italy. The shipping company operated five different routes: from Algeciras to Tangier, from Tarifa to Tangier, from Genoa to Tangier, from Sète to Tangier and from Nador to Almería .
The Comarit fleet last consisted of five of its own ships. In addition, ships from other shipping companies have increasingly been chartered for mostly short periods of time in recent years. In January 2012, the shipping company ceased operations after filing for bankruptcy. In May 2012 Comarit was dissolved after 28 years.
