Keenan Lewis Girod (* 17th May 1986 in New Orleans , Louisiana ) is a former American American Footballer in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers as well as for the New Orleans Saints as cornerback .

college

Lewis attended Oregon State University and played college football for their team, the Beavers, between 2005 and 2008 .

NFL

Pittsburgh Steelers

In the 2010 NFL Draft , he was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round as a 96th overall. If it was only used comparatively rarely in the first two seasons, it eventually became a permanent part of the Steelers' secondary .

New Orleans Saints

In March 2013 he signed a five-year contract with the New Orleans Saints . In late November 2015, he suffered a knee injury and was out for the rest of the season.

On August 19, 2016, the injured Lewis was released from the Saints.

Lewis is currently the head coach of the Landry-Walker High School team in New Orleans .
