Robert Charles "Bob" Anderson (born November 7, 1947 in Winchester , Hampshire , England ) is a former English darts player and world champion nicknamed "The Limestone Cowboy" (in German: "The Limestone Cowboy").

Anderson won the World Professional Darts Championship in 1988, as well as the World Masters Championship in 1986, 1987 and 1988 . In 1987 and 1989 he was number 1 in the WDF world rankings. Today he lives in Clevedon , Somerset .

Anderson threw his first "180" (maximum number of points that can be achieved with three darts ) at the age of seven, and in his youth he was also known as an excellent athlete; he was nominated as a javelin thrower in the British selection for the 1968 Summer Olympics . He broke his arm before the team left for Mexico. This was also the end of his javelin throwing career. In 1990 he had to undergo an operation on his back because his darts career was also threatened by the symptoms.

Anderson was also the driving force behind the Bob Anderson Classic , a major darts tournament that was held annually from 2002 to 2005. Anderson also invented the darts training game "Bob's 27".
