Robert Thomas "Bob" Joyce (born July 11, 1966 in Saint John , New Brunswick ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who worked for the Boston Bruins , Washington Capitals and Winnipeg Jets in National Hockey from 1984 to 2000 League , the Düsseldorfer EG as well as the EV Landshut and the Munich Barons in the DEL .

Career

Robert Joyce began his career as a hockey player on the University of North Dakota team , where he was active from 1984 to 1987. He was previously selected as a high school player in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft in the fourth round as a total of 82 players by the Boston Bruins , for whom he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 1987/88 season . In his rookie year , the attacker reached the final games of the Stanley Cup with his team , in which he lost to the Edmonton Oilers with the Bruins in the best-of-seven series with a sweep . On December 13, 1989, he was given in exchange for Dave Christian to the Washington Capitals , where he spent the following year and a half in the NHL, before he was in May 1991 together with Tyler Larter and Kent Paynter in exchange for Craig Duncanson , Brent Hughes and Simon Wheeldon was transferred to the Winnipeg Jets . For Winnipeg, the left shooter was only on the ice once in the following two seasons in the NHL and otherwise ran for their farm team from the American Hockey League , the Moncton Hawks .

From 1993 to 1997 Joyce played two years in the International Hockey League for the Las Vegas Thunder and the Orlando Solar Bears , before he was signed by the Düsseldorfer EG from the DEL , which he returned to after only one year due to their withdrawal from the DEL left to play for EV Landshut . When he sold his DEL license one year later, the Canadian joined the newly founded Munich Barons , with whom he became German champions in the 1999/2000 season . Following this success, he ended his career.

International

For Canada , Joyce took part in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary , where he finished fourth with his team.
