Bobby Wilson
Robert Keith "Bobby" Wilson (born November 22, 1935 in Hendon ) is a former British tennis player .
1952 Wilson won the junior field at Wimbledon . In 1960 he lost in the same place, but this time as an active player, together with his compatriot Mike Davies in the doubles competition against the Mexican Rafael Osuna and the American Dennis Ralston in three sets with 7: 5, 6: 3 and 10: 8. In singles, he reached the quarterfinals several times at Wimbledon, Roland Garros and the US Open .
Between 1955 and 1968, Wilson played 34 games for the British Davis Cup team , making him the British record player. He won 16 of his 28 singles and 25 of his 33 doubles. With these 25 wins, he is also the most successful British doubles player. With eleven wins together alongside Mike Sangster , the two also form the most successful British doubles in the Davis Cup .
