The site of el Pedret has been registered as an archaeological monument (Monument arqueològic) since 1966 under the number RI-51-0002587 . From 2001, partial excavations took place on the property of the Capllonch family under the direction of Josep Merino and Magdalena Estarellas, which were discontinued in 2009 due to a lack of further funding. During the excavations there were several thefts and destruction of the site. From November 2012 it was planned to lead the Camí de Cala Bóquer , the hiking trail to Cala Bóquer , through the area of the archaeological site.
