Bockum is one of five districts of the municipality of Rehlingen in the southwestern tip of the district of Lüneburg in Lower Saxony .

Geographical location

Bockum is located at the confluence of the Heide River Ehlbeck in the Lopau , a tributary of the Luhe . West of Bockum lies the robbery chamber , which largely belongs to the Munster Nord military training area , and is one of the largest forest areas in Lower Saxony.

history

According to tradition, the robber baron Moritz von Zahrenhusen had his castle in the Bruch around Bockum in the Middle Ages .

Culture and infrastructure

The SOS-Hof Bockum , a facility for the social integration of people with intellectual disabilities, has been housed in the renovated buildings of the Hofgut and the disused water mill since 1985 .
