The Gebr. Bode GmbH & Co. KG is a German company from Kassel that electrical and compressed air operated vehicle door systems for rail vehicles and buses manufactured. The traditional Kassel-based company has been part of Schaltbau Holding AG , a traffic engineering company based in Munich , since 1995 and is now its largest subsidiary.
history
In 1968 the Gebr. Bode GmbH & Co. KG was founded by spinning off from the former company Wegmann & Co. , today's arms company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann . The lifting spindle drive was developed and a patent applied for in the founding year. In 1981 today's BodeNorth America was founded in Spartanburg , followed by Bode Greece in Athens in 1984 . After moving into the newly built plant in Kassel - Bettenhausen , a new door system was developed for the ICE 1 and BODO Türk Bode Dogrusan was founded in Turkey . In 1995, Schaltbau AG from Munich took over the company.
Today there are further subsidiaries in the People's Republic of China , Beijing (since 1997) and in Poland , Rawicz (since 2005). While the development center is in Kassel, production and assembly takes place at all locations.
