The Bodenlehrpfad Raffelsbrand was when it opened in 2003 in North Rhine-Westphalia time setup in Raffelsbrand in Düren .

The soil nature trail is located in the "Todtenbruch-Moor", a foothill of the High Fens . It is 4.5 km long. About 700 m lead over wooden walkways.

Six selected soils can be seen along the route of the path, including podsol , pseudogley , gley , brown earth and raised bog soils . In addition to an area in which the peat cutting can be traced, there is also a pingo , an ice age depression, with a diameter of almost 50 m. Typical bog plants such as cotton grass , carnivorous sundew and many other plants have settled again.

Colored information boards explain the details of the soil nature trail to visitors.

The educational trail built by the State Forestry Administration of North Rhine-Westphalia was inaugurated on June 13, 2003 by the then Environment Minister North Rhine-Westphalia Bärbel Höhn . The Raffelsbrand youth forest home run by the North Rhine-Westphalia Forest and Wood Agency is located near the educational trail .
