Bodo-Maria Erhard

Bodo-Maria Erhard ISch (born April 5, 1924 in Bad Schwalbach ) is a German Roman Catholic clergyman and Schoenstatt Father . From 1968 to 1974 he was General Superior of the Secular Institute of the Schoenstatt Fathers and thus at the same time Chairman of the General Presidium of the international Schoenstatt Movement .

Life

Bodo-Maria Erhard, one of six children of a lawyer, studied physics at the Technical University of Darmstadt after the end of the war . He was involved in the then Catholic student community (KSG) and also became a member of the Michael group , which re-established the KDStV Nassovia Darmstadt , a Catholic student union founded in 1896 and forcibly dissolved in 1936 at Baldeney Castle . Erhard has been a member of the CV student association since 1946 . After studying physics, he worked as an engineer at Siemens .

In 1957 Erhard began studying theology with the Schoenstatt Fathers . After his ordination he traveled around the world for the Schoenstatt Movement. In 1965 he accompanied Josef Kentenich , the founder of the international Schoenstatt Movement, to the Second Vatican Council in Rome .

From 1968 to 1974 Bodo-Maria Erhard was Superior General of the Secular Institute of the Schoenstatt Fathers and thus also Chairman of the General Presidium of the international Schoenstatt Movement.

He lives on Mount Sion in Schoenstatt near Vallendar . Erhard is an expert on the life and work of Josef Kentenich, the founder of the international Schoenstatt Movement.
