Bodo Witzke (born November 15, 1955 in Krefeld ) is a German television journalist , documentary filmmaker , photographer , cartoonist and book author.

biography

Witzke grew up in Krefeld, attended the Fichte-Gymnasium Krefeld , is an engineer in phototechnology , and first completed an editing and then an editorial traineeship at ZDF .

As an author, he produced more than 70 reports, documentaries, documentary series and documentaries on social, development and environmental issues for ZDF, 3sat and ARTE . He worked u. a. for the ZDF report , ZDF-Zündstoff, 37 degrees, etc. Again and again he produced individual films and series for special or event programming outside of the classic broadcast vessels. An important focus of his work as an author from 1999 on was the development of multi-part "documentary film narratives" for the ZDF. He has made some of his more recent films himself. In his cinematic work he is close to the ideas of Direct Cinema .

He has repeatedly commented on the basics of the documentary television trade in publications and at advanced training events. He is particularly interested in the form of reportage and the dramaturgy of the authentic in features, in documentaries and documentaries, as well as dealing with the work of Georg Stefan Troller and Hans-Dieter Grabe . He worked as a coach for numerous television stations, including the Afghan television RTA.

In addition to the documentary television works, Witzke has shown his photographs and cartoons in numerous exhibitions.

He is married, has two children and lives near Mainz.
