Bohdan Danylyschyn

Bohdan Michailowitsch Danylyschyn ( Ukrainian Богдан Михайлович Данилишин ; born June 6, 1965 in Dolyna Rajon , Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast ) is a Ukrainian economist and politician. From December 2007 to March 2010 he was the country's Minister of Economic Affairs.

Danylyschyn studied economics in Ternopil , received his doctorate and was appointed a member of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 2004. In 2003 Danylyschyn received the State Prize of Ukraine in the Science and Technology Section.

In December 2007 he was appointed Minister of Economic Affairs in the government of Yulia Tymoshenko , a position he held until March 2010. In August 2010, he was charged by the Ukrainian public prosecutor's office with embezzlement of public funds. He was arrested in Prague in October 2010 . The Ukrainian government requested his extradition. In January 2011 the government of the Czech Republic granted Danylyschyn political asylum . The Ukrainian judiciary dropped the criminal proceedings against him in early March 2013.
