Bohumil Turek

Bohumil Turek (born May 26, 1901 in Dvůr Králové nad Labem , † January 18, 1972 ) was a Czechoslovak motorcycle and automobile racer .

He began his career for Walter as a test driver and engineer. In 1925 he accepted an offer from the Prague company Tesárek, which imported Harley-Davidson . When he married in Prague in 1927, the idea of ​​a Harley Davidson Club Prague is said to have arisen, which was founded a year later and is now the oldest Harley club in the world.

In 1929, after his success with the ADAC -fahrt Prague – Brest –Prague, Turek became head of the test department at Aero .

In May and June 1935 Turek took part in an Aero 30 on the Prague – MoscowTbilisi voyage . After his return, Turek had an accident on June 15, 1935 at the 1000 miles of Czechoslovakia so badly that he had to end his racing career. But he remained in a leading position at Aero until the post-war period.
