Boleslav Polívka (born July 31, 1949 in Vizovice ) is a Czech actor , dramaturge and set designer .

Life

Polívka studied in Brno at the Janáček Academy for Music and Performing Arts Brno (JAMU), was one of the founders of the Brno Theater Na provázku in 1972 and became one of the most famous personalities associated with this venue. In 1993 he founded his own theater in Brno . Polívka is one of the most prominent representatives of pantomime in the Czech Republic, he has implemented roles in theater, film and television.

For his pantomime productions, in which he also directed and took on the main roles, (Am a Ea, Pezza versus Čorba, Pépe, Trosečník, Poslední leč , Šašek a královna ) , he let himself be clown , the Commedia dell'arte and the slapstick inspired, but uses words and intentionally exceeds genre boundaries up to the total Schauspielertum . Polívka, a passionate rider, organizes events on his farm in Olšany near Vyškov , including the world championship in shotgun throwing. He has three children with three different women; For a long time he was in a relationship with the French actress Chantal Poullain . His daughter Anna Polívková is also an actress.
