The Bolshoi Gashun ( Russian Большо́й Гашу́н ("Great Gashun")) is a left tributary of the Sal in the Russian Oblast of Rostov .

The Bolshoi Gaschun rises on the northern flank of the Sal-Manych ridge in the southeast of Rostov Oblast. It flows in a predominantly north-westerly direction and flows into the Sal, a left tributary of the Don , near the village of Donskoi . The Bolshoi Gashun has a length of 161 km. It drains an area of ​​3090 km². The most important tributary is the Maly Gaschun ("Kleiner Gaschun"), which meets the river 6.2 km above the mouth from the left. The Bolshoi Gashun is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The upper course often falls dry.
