The Bolton Group is an Italian holding company with major activities in the food industry , but also in the non-food sector with cleaning agents, cosmetics and adhesives.

history

The company was founded in 1949 by Joseph Nissim, a former Procter & Gamble employee . In 1992, Bolton entered the cosmetics industry with the takeover of the Collistar brand in Italy.

Since 1994, the holding company has been the owner of the well-known German manufacturer of adhesives , UHU , whose activities have been combined in UHU Holding GmbH .

With the acquisition of Saupiquet in France in 1999, the company becomes the leading European manufacturer of canned seafood.

34% of sales are generated in Italy , 10% in France , 9% in Spain and 4% in Germany ; 17% come from the rest of Europe , 26% from outside Europe.

69% of sales are achieved with food; the non-food area (31%) brings 10% wellness, 9% household, cleaning and laundry detergents, 9% adhesives and 3% cosmetics.
