The Bolwell Nagari is a sports car from the Australian automobile manufacturer Bolwell . The first Nagari Mk. VIII was built from 1969 to 1974, the Nagari Mk. X came out in 2008.

Nagari Mk. VIII

Nagari is an Australian Aboriginal word that means "fluent" in German. The Nagari Mk. VIII was the first complete sports car that Bolwell made. 127 coupés and 13 convertibles were created. The model was produced from 1969 to 1974 and was the most famous of the manufacturer's nine models (Mk. I - Mk. VIII and Ikara). The Nagari had a Ford V8 engine with 4949 cm³ or 5752 cm³ displacement, a central tubular chassis with a 2280 mm wheelbase and an empty weight of 920 kg. Most of the other components also came from Ford, such as B. suspension and shock absorbers, or from the Austin 1800 , such as the steering.

At the end of 2006 Bolwell announced that they wanted to bring out a new model with a GRP body under the name Nagari and the start of production was announced for 2008. The prototype appeared at the Melbourne International Motor Show 2008 and the Sydney International Motor Show 2008 and was powered by a supercharged 3.5 liter V6 engine from the Toyota Aurion . A suction motor of the same size is also available. The Nagari is currently only available with a six-speed automatic transmission (with or without a paddle on the steering column), but a manual transmission is in preparation. The new Nagari is a two-seater coupé with a central tube made of CFRP, subframes at the rear and front and a CFRP body. The rear lights come from the current Honda Integra . The basic equipment is sparse; prices start at AU $ 150,000 and can go up to AU $ 260,000 for a fully equipped model with a supercharged engine and manual transmission.
