Bolwell is an Australian automobile manufacturer. The first company Bolwell Cars Pty Ltd from Mordialloc , a district of Melbourne in the state of Victoria , built sports cars from 1962 to 1982 . The Bolwell Car Company, based in Seaford , Victoria, has been continuing series production of new cars since 2008 , after having only built concept cars for a few years .

Models

Mk. IV

The Mk. IV was a kit car that was offered as a coupé with gullwing doors or as an open sports car. From 1962 to 1964 over 200 copies were made.

Mk. V

From 1964 to 1966, 75 Mk. V coupés were produced. Most of the components came from Holden .

Mk. VI

The Mk. VI - also known as the SR6 - was a mid-engined racing car , only one of which was made in 1968.

Mk. VII

Bolwell Mk. VII

From 1967 to 1972 400 copies of the Mk. VII were made. The coupé was mostly sold as a kit, but often also as a fully assembled car.

Mk. VIII Nagari

Bolwell Mk. VIII Nagari

The Mk VIII. - better known as Bolwell Nagari - was a from a Ford - V8 engine driven model, which was from 1969 on offer. The cars were fully assembled in the Bolwell factory. There was a coupé and from 1972 there was also a convertible. In 1974 production was stopped. A total of 127 coupés and 13 convertibles were built.

Mk. IX Ikara

The Mk. IX Ikara, designed in 1979, was a mid-engined sports car. A 1.6-liter four-cylinder in-line engine from the VW Golf served as the drive . Over a lattice frame one was GFK -Karosserie drawn, which had no doors. About 20 copies were made.

Mk. X Nagari

Bolwell Mk. X Nagari

A new Bolwell Nagari, the Mk. X, was unveiled at the Melbourne Motor Show in March 2008. Series production began in 2009.
