EW Brown Motors Pty Ltd was an Australian manufacturer of motorcycles and automobiles .

Company history

The Melbourne company was originally active in the motorcycle sector and began manufacturing them in 1912. The brand name was EWB . In 1917, the production of automobiles began under the direction of Edwin Walker Brown. The brand name was Palm . Many parts came from Ford , so Ford took legal action against the company. Automobile production ended in 1921. In total, only a few copies were made.

EW Brown & McLelland continued production in 1922 under the Renown brand .

The company sourced the mechanical parts from the USA . Together with other parts such as fenders , hubcaps and radiator grilles , finished vehicles were created. They were right-hand drive . The similarity to the Ford Model T was very high. The price, however, was almost double.
