Continental Coachwork Pty Ltd was an Australian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Sydney-based company began producing automobiles in 1958 under the direction of Mirek Craney. The brand name was Ascort . Production ended in 1960. A total of 19 vehicles were built.

The only model was based on the chassis of the VW Beetle . A light, four-seater coupé body made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic was mounted on top. The four - cylinder boxer engine was tuned to 41 kW with Okrasa parts by Gerhard Oettinger (1920–1997) from Friedrichsdorf near Frankfurt am Main . The top speed was specified as 144 km / h.
