Lloyd & Sulman was an Australian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The racing driver Tom Sulman had made a light vehicle for himself. In 1923 he founded the company in Camperdown with his father-in-law and began producing automobiles. The brand name was Sulman . The great success of the Austin 7 led to financial problems. Production ended in the same year. A total of five vehicles were built.

The prototype had an Excelsior motorcycle engine . This vehicle is also known as a cycle car, although it is not known whether it met the criteria of a cycle car in terms of cubic capacity and curb weight .

In the standard Simplex version, the vehicles were powered by an air-cooled V2 engine from Spacke with an output of 13.5 hp . The transmission had two gears. The wheelbase was 1981 mm and the curb weight was 407 kg.
