history

The Vienna Traisengasse stop was built from 1960 to 1962 as a station on the main S-Bahn line and opened on January 17, 1962. Regional trains have also stopped at this stop since December 2008.

investment

The current architecture is by Albert Wimmer . The stop was completely modernized between October 2007 and August 2009 during ongoing operations. The station building appears light and transparent through the use of 2,500 m² of glass and 150 tons of steel and, in addition to a security system with video surveillance, ensures an increased feeling of security among passengers. The S-Bahn stop has two 161-meter-long side platforms , which are completely roofed over and provided with wall glazing. There are small waiting berths at the ends. In addition to the staircase, the Traisengasse exit has escalators and elevators, the Donaueschingenstrasse exit has stairways and elevators. Both entrances are equipped with small entrance halls with canopies. The station is equipped with a guidance system for the blind . There are train destination displays and departure monitors on both platforms .
