Bonlanden is a suburb of the municipality of Berkheim in the district of Biberach in Upper Swabia .
description
Bonlanden is located north of Berkheim, on the western side of the central Illertal . In 1493, the Ochsenhausen monastery acquired half of the town from the Mehrerau Benedictines. The rest of the place remained under the rule of Kellmünz . In 1806 the community with Berkheim was incorporated into the Kingdom of Württemberg .
On April 17, 1855, Faustin Mennel laid the foundation stone of the Bonlanden Monastery , which is today the motherhouse of the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady .
