The Bonner Straße is a street in Trier in the district Pallien . It runs from the fork in Kölner Strasse near the Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge , where Bitburger Strasse begins, to the outskirts of Biewer , where it turns into Biewerer Strasse. A large part is not built on. Bonner Strasse is part of the B 53 . Trier's western route runs continuously parallel to the street .

history

The name of the street is derived from the former federal capital Bonn . It has had the name since 1969. The street used to be called Koblenzer Straße.

Cultural monuments

There are a total of six cultural monuments on Bonner Strasse . The buildings date mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries. In addition, the street is part of the monument zone Palliener Straße 3–19 and 34–39 with the bridge over the Sirzenicher Bach, Mühlenweg 1–4, from Bitburger Straße the Napoleonsbrücke, Bonner Straße 9–12, 25 . This includes small row houses, inhabited by day laborers who were employed on the farm, in the sand pits and the various mills along the Sirzenich brook.
