The Bordumer Busch is the name of a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony city of Wilhelmshaven .
The nature reserve Bordumer Busch with the registration NSG WE 239 was created through the largely undisturbed development of an originally partly planted, partly naturally grown forest. Since the end of the Second World War , access to the site has been forbidden due to the remains of military ammunition. A forest area with different degrees of moisture developed. Some particularly endangered plant and animal species find an undisturbed habitat here in a rich and varied layer of herbs, bushes and trees as well as interspersed reeds, still waters and clearing areas.
The nature reserve is located west of Lake Banter between the Ems-Jade Canal and the Jade Bay . It is interrupted by a road and the track of a freight railway that crosses the area in a west-east direction. The area of the nature reserve is 34 hectares . The area has been under nature protection since November 23, 2002. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the city of Wilhelmshaven.
