Boris Ekmeščić (born November 10, 1964 ) is a Croatian soccer coach and former soccer player .

Career

player

The striker , who comes from today's Croatia , began his career with the club HNK Rijeka and switched to the Austrian second division team Grazer AK during the winter break of the 1990/91 season . In October 1992 Ekmeščić moved to 1. FC Union Berlin in the then third-class German Oberliga Nordost . With the Unionern he was in the 1992/93 season champion of the season middle and sportily prevailed in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga . However, the Berliners were denied the license for the 2nd Bundesliga and the team remained in the top division.

Boris Ekmeščić then moved to VfB Oldenburg , who had just been relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga. With the Lower Saxony he managed in the 1993/94 season the qualification for the newly created Regionalliga Nord . He stayed in Oldenburg for another year and scored 33 goals in 54 games for VfB. In the summer of 1995 Ekmeščić moved to FC Gütersloh , who had just been promoted to the Regionalliga West / Südwest . With the Güterslohern he was instant champion in the 1995/96 season and made it through to the 2nd Bundesliga.

During the 1996/97 season Ekmeščić moved to regional league club LR Ahlen . He played there for a year before moving to the top division BV Cloppenburg during the winter break of the 1997/98 season. With the "Zebras" he was runner- up in the season 1997/98 of the Lower Saxony / Bremen season and prevailed in the promotion games to the regional league against TuS Hoisdorf . After successful relegation, Boris Ekmeščić ended his playing career in the summer of 1999.

Trainer

In the 2003/04 season Boris Ekmeščić coached SSV Jeddeloh and led the team to promotion to the district class. He later coached the second teams of VfB Oldenburg and SV Wilhelmshaven before coaching the SV Wilhelmshaven regional league team between September 2008 and April 2009. He then worked as a trainer for SV Brake , Kickers Wahnbek and as assistant trainer at VfB Oldenburg and BSV Rehden . In 2016 he took over the district division TSV Oldenburg , where he was released in November 2017. Curiously, he found out about his dismissal from the amateur soccer portal FuPa . As early as the end of September 2017, he also appeared as the coach of the second team with play in the lower-class Fusion Class A Season 2 . After 17 league games in which the team could only win two games and in these 17 championship games came to a goal difference of 23: 127, Ekmeščić was released from his duties at the end of the season with this team. In the following summer break he was presented as a coach of the police SV Oldenburg with play in the 2nd district class Jade-Weser-Hunte Season 3 . Relatively successfully started the season, however, he was dismissed as coach after the second competitive game in the spring, after he had only won one of the last twelve league games with his team.
