The gymnastics and sports club Hoisdorf from 1958 is a sports club from Hoisdorf in Schleswig-Holstein , which has become known primarily because of its football department . The club's first men's team played for several years in the Oberliga Nord and a year in the Regionalliga Nord . He also took part in the DFB Cup twice.

history

The club was founded on August 21, 1958 and played at the county level until the early 1980s. The sporting upswing began when the owner of the local car sealing plant Günter Bruss got involved financially with TuS. After the district league promotion in 1979, the promotion to the Landesliga Süd followed three years later . Despite renowned reinforcements such as Georg Volkert , the Stormarns were runner-up three times in a row between 1984 and 1986. At the end of 1986, Bruss signed some players from the Hummelsbütteler SV, which had been withdrawn from the game . So strengthened the Hoisdorf 1987 with 56: 4 points superior national league champions.

The Schleswig-Holstein Association League was only a transit station for the TuS. Right from the start, the Stormarns secured the association league championship with just one defeat. The 1: 2 at VfB Kiel meant the first defeat for TuS after 36 games without a double loss of points. After a 2: 2 in the decisive promotion round match against VfL Herzlake , TuS rose to the then third-class Oberliga Nord. Despite the success, coach Bert Ehm left the club. Ehm called the patron Bruss as a dictator , with whom the cooperation was "terrible".

The Hoisdorfers were able to establish themselves quickly in the upper league and gave the 2nd Bundesliga as their goal . It wasn't until the 15th matchday that they lost their first game against 1. SC Göttingen 05 . Then the team stumbled and finished eighth. In the following season the TuS advanced into the top group. In the meantime, player-coach Mannebach has been sacked after he repeatedly complained about Günter Bruss's attempts to meddle.

After a 4-1 win at TSV Havelse , the promotion round was close enough to touch, before the Stormarn team lost second place on the last day of the match with a 2-1 defeat at 1. SC Norderstedt . In the first round of the German amateur championship , TuS was eliminated against TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus . A year later, the club caused a sensation by signing Anthony Christian , the goalkeeper of the national soccer team of Antigua and Barbuda . He played five times and conceded twelve goals. Relegation could only just barely be avoided this season.

Patron Bruss tried to form a syndicate with VfB Lübeck during the 1991 summer break . The SG Hoisdorf / Lübeck was rejected by the North German Football Association . Since the ascent did not work out in the 1991/92 season, Bruss moved to Lübeck alone. His son Oliver took over the club and relied on young talent from the region instead of high-paid, older players. Two years later, under coach Gerd-Volker Schock, they qualified for the Regionalliga Nord, from which the team was relegated as the bottom of the table.

Peter Nogly took over the coaching office and led the Stormarner in 1998 to the runner-up in the Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein / Hamburg behind Holstein Kiel . In the promotion games to the Regionalliga, the Hoisdorfers had to admit defeat to BV Cloppenburg . Three years later, Oliver Bruss also announced that he would end his financial commitment. After the merger talks with SV Eichede had failed, the club announced at the beginning of the second half of the season that it would withdraw to the district league for the coming season. As runner-up, the Hoisdorf team said goodbye to the league. TuS has been playing in the Stormarn District League since relegation in 2008 . Six years later it went down to the district class, but in 2015 the promotion to the newly formed Stormarn / Lauenburg district league succeeded .

The TuS reached the second round of the DFB Cup twice: in 1988, after a 3-0 win over Rot-Weiß Oberhausen at home against FC Bayern Munich in front of 18,000 spectators at Lübeck's Lohmühle, they were eliminated 4-0. In 1989 FSV Salmrohr was defeated 3-1 before losing 2-0 to TSV 1860 Munich .
