Boris Hambourg
Boris Hambourg ( Russian Борис Михайлович Гамбург * December 27, 1884 . Jul / 8. January 1885 greg. In Voronezh , Russian Empire ; † 24. November 1954 in Toronto , Canada ) was a Russian cellist.
Life
Boris Hambourg was the son of Mikhail Hambourg (1855-1916). From 1898 to 1903 he studied at the Hoch Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main . After the death of his father, Hambourg took over the music conservatory, which he founded in 1913 in Toronto, Canada . He was the co-founder of the Hart House String Quartet , of which he was a cellist.
Boris Hambourg was the brother of Mark , Jan and Clement Hambourg .
