Boris Lwowitsch Gutnikow
Boris Lwowitsch Gutnikow ( Russian Борис Львович Гу́тников ; born July 4, 1931 in Wizebsk , Belarusian SSR , Soviet Union ; † April 6, 1986 in Leningrad , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union) was a Soviet violinist .
Life
Boris Gutnikow was born in the Belarusian city of Vitebsk in 1931. At the age of five he received his first violin lessons from Johannes Nalbandian, and later from Ljubow Sigal. He studied with Yuri Eidlin at the Leningrad Conservatory , where he himself worked as a university lecturer from 1958. In 1973 he was appointed professor of string instruments. His students included u. a. Arkadi Marasch and Alexander Mnazakanjan . He was buried in the Serafimovskoe Cemetery in Leningrad.

- 1956: Winner of the Slavik Ondriček competition in Prague
- 1957: Winner of the Thibaud competition in Paris
- 1962: Winner of the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow
- 1978: People's Artist of the RSFSR
