Arkadi Marash

Arkadi Marasch (* 1958 in Leningrad , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian violinist and conductor . Since 1991 he has been the first concertmaster of the orchestra of the Halle Opera House and the Staatskapelle Halle as well as the director of the collegium instrumentale hall .

Life

Arkadi Marasch was born in Leningrad, today's Saint Petersburg, in 1958 and received violin lessons from the age of five . He attended the special music school of the conservatory in his hometown and was still in GDR times in 1974 on the occasion of a student exchange with today's Latina for the first time in Halle / Saale . From 1976 to 1981 he studied violin with Viktor Libermann and Boris Gutnikow at the Leningrad Conservatory . In 1983 he became a lecturer and aspirant there . Marasch was a member of the Kirov Theater Orchestra from 1981 to 1989 , after which he played in the Leningrad Philharmonic a . a. under Yuri Temirkanow . From 1987 onwards he was concert master of the Leningrad Chamber Orchestra for two years .

At the beginning of 1991, a piano professor friend of mine from Dresden put him in Halle. After an audition in the spring of 1991, he became first concertmaster of the Halle Opera House orchestra . After the orchestra merger in 2006, he held the same position at the Staatskapelle Halle . Repeatedly he appeared with the orchestra as a conductor, for example at the Handel Festival with the ballet Aqua Dance, choreographed by Ralf Rossa and Gudrun Trekel . In 1991 he also became the director of the collegium instrumentale hall . Concert tours as a soloist took him through Europe. He played u. a. under the conductors Andrei Boreiko , Roger Epple , Georg Fritzsch and Klaus Weise . Chamber music he worked a. a. with Ramón Jaffé , Mara Mednik , Gustav Rivinius and Ragna Schirmer . He has a preference for the works of Béla Bartók and Dmitri Shostakovich .

Marasch is the father of two children. He has lived in Halle (Saale) since the collapse of the Soviet Union .

  • 1996 Second prize at the 6th international orchestral music competition in Gernsbach
  • 2013 Award of the honorary title of chamber virtuoso by the Lord Mayor of Halle Bernd Wiegand
