Boris Schröder

Boris Schröder ( Boris Schröder-Esselbach ; * 1968) is a German geoecologist and professor of landscape ecology at the TU Braunschweig.

Schröder did his community service from 1988 to 1990 in the Ummeln Foundation , Bielefeld-Ummeln . From 1990 to 1997 he studied geoecology at the TU Carolo-Wilhelmina Braunschweig . From 1991 he also took philosophy in Braunschweig. He did his doctorate in Braunschweig under Otto Richter in the BMBF project "Ecosystem management of fens - Land use models for the development and assessment of management for species and habitat conservation in fens".

After his dissertation, the University of Oldenburg ( Michael Kleyer ), the University of Sheffield , Biodiversity & Macroecology Group (KJ Gaston) and the Geoecology of the University of Potsdam (AG Head of Quantitative Landscape Ecology Group) were stations of his "teaching and traveling years". In 2008, after holding various positions as W2 professor, he finally became professor at the Technical University of Munich , Freising-Weihenstephan. Since 2013 he has been head of the environmental system analysis department at the Institute for Geoecology at the TU Braunschweig.

Schröder researches and teaches on the topics of biogeography , macroecology and ecosystem functions and services. his courses take place on landscape ecological topics, ecological modeling and geoecology.
