Borislav Sharaliev

Borislav Angelow Sharaliev ( Bulgarian Борислав Ангелов Шаралиев ; born August 22, 1922 in Plovdiv , † May 9, 2002 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian film director.

Life

Sharaliev studied at Sofia University and the Moscow Film School . He worked at Boyana Film Studios , where he held a managerial position. From 1972 to 1980 he was a member of the Bulgarian Parliament .

He has won numerous national and international film awards. In 1954 he was nominated for the Golden Lion of the Venice International Film Festival with Lied vom Menschen . In 1966 he was able to win an award at the festival with Knight Without Harness . In 1964 he won a Golden Dove with Vaskata at the International Leipzig Documentary and Short Film Week . He won several awards with films at the Goldene Rose film festival, for example in 1966 with Vaskata and Knights without Armor , in 1970 with Farewell , friends! , 1971 The indispensable sinner , 1980 Vsichko e lyubov and 1984 Boris I . It was Boris I named best film.

He was also awarded the Dimitrov Prize .
