Status: end of career

Francisco Borja Enrique Ayesa (born January 20, 1974 in Laredo , Cantabria ), called Neru , is a former Spanish football player and current coach . In defense, he was mostly used as a central defender, but also as a left defender.

Player career

Coming from the youth department of Racing Santander , he gained experience in the second division for the first time in the 1998/99 season at the age of 24 . Above all, his flexibility in defensive positions was praised. In the 2004/05 season Neru was loaned to the Segunda Division at Sporting Gijón . On May 1, 2005 in a 3-2 home win, he scored his first professional goal against FC Pontevedra . He missed just one game throughout the season.

For the 2005/06 season he returned to Racing Santander , where he came to a total of 15 missions before he was loaned again, this time to Cádiz FC . After his return, he played only one game for Racing, after which he moved to Sporting Gijón. With Gijón he was finally promoted to the Primera División in the 2007/08 season , where he was out for almost the entire season. In the 2008/09 season he was initially a regular before he was out due to injury. As a result, he came a few games only as a substitute for the course before he fought his way back into the team. The last season games in which his club secured the class, he was no longer considered.

Then left Neru the club and moved to Deportivo Alavés in the Segunda División B . There he only made five missions and joined second division SD Huesca in early 2010 . There he became a regular player after teething problems, but had to sit on the bench again in the last games of the season. In the summer of 2010, he left Huesca again and joined FC Pontevedra in Segunda División B. There he had a permanent place in the team in the first seven games, but then dropped out the rest of the season and ended his career.

Coaching career

After the end of his active career, Neru worked as a football coach. In the 2012/13 season he was in charge of Santoña CF in the Tercera División . In summer 2013 he became an assistant coach at SD Noja in the Segunda División B . At the end of October 2013 he was interim coach there for a game.
