Bornkamp (Lübeck)
The Bornkamp is a 2005 shared for construction residential area south of the city of Lübeck in the district of St. Jürgen . Together with the university district, it is the largest urban development project in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.
description
In terms of urban planning, an island principle was implemented in Bornkamp , which is also reflected in the street names. These bear the names of islands in the Baltic Sea (such as Lollandring or Falsterring ) or are related to the nearby Baltic Sea (e.g. Kadetrinne ). The model for the Bornkamp is the garden city Brøndby Haveby near Copenhagen , which implemented the island principle back in 1964. The islands allow a high proportion of popular peripheral properties.
The Bornkamp covers an area of approx. 32 hectares in the south of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck and houses 286 properties for single-family or semi-detached houses . There are also row houses on an area of around 6 hectares. Altogether there are 480 residential units with approx. 1500 residents in Bornkamp. The zip code is 23560.
The costs for the purchase and the development amounted to approx. 25.5 million euros.
The entire area is divided into the higher plateau in the north, the slope in the middle and the lowest-lying, southern residential islands. While the plateau and the residential islands are predominantly dominated by single-family houses, the development of the slope consists mainly of row houses and overcomes a height difference of several meters from the plateau to the residential islands.
Location and transport links
The Bornkamp residential area is enclosed in the east by the B207 and the Lübeck-Büchen railway line , in the north by Ringstedtenhof, in the west by Vorrader Strasse and in the south by the Stecknitz district . In terms of transport, the area is connected to the adjacent university district via the “La Rochelle Bridge”, which was completed in August 2005. This also provides the only road connection to the road network of the city of Lübeck is and is oriented with the name " La Rochelle " on the French twin town of Lübeck.
The residential area is connected to the line network by bus line 2 from Stadtverkehr Lübeck GmbH . Since 2006 there has been a connection between Bornkamp and Lisa-Dräger-Weg, which connects the residential area with the village of Vorrade. The “Hochschulstadtteil” stop of the Bahn AG was opened on December 15, 2013 with the winter timetable.
