The Boroughmuir Rugby Football Club is a rugby union -Verein which in the Scottish Premiership plays. The home games are played in Meggetland, Edinburgh .

The association was founded in 1919. At that time you didn't have your own seat and had to change venues so often. In 1939 Boroughmuir became a full member of the Scottish Rugby Union , shortly before the outbreak of World War II , which brought game operations in Scotland to a standstill. After the end of the war, the club played regularly in Meggetland, from 1952 also with floodlights. A year later he took part in the unofficial Scottish Championship for the first time.

At the beginning of the 1960s, the club had so many members that six men's teams could compete weekly. In 1961 the first national player emerged from the ranks of the club. In 1973 a lot changed in league operations in Scotland with the establishment of an official league structure by the Scottish Federation. Boroughmuir was placed in the first division.

In 1980 the club built a grandstand, changing rooms and a new square in Meggetland. In 1986 the floodlights were modernized. In the 1990/91 season Boroughmuir became champions for the first time. In 1999 he was relegated for the first time, but returned a year later. In 2003 and 2008 you could win the championship again.
