Boutros Moshe

Boutros Moshe (born November 23, 1943 in Baghdida , Ninawa , Iraq ) is a Syrian Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Mosul .

Life

Boutros Moshe received on 9 June 1968 with the Emmanuel Daddi , Archbishop of Mosul , the ordination . He was " Protosincellus " ( Vicar General ) of the Archeparchy of Mosul .

He was elected Archbishop of Mosul by the Holy Synod of the Syrian Catholic Church . Pope Benedict XVI agreed to the election and on March 1, 2011 appointed him Archbishop of Mosul the Syrians. The Syrian Catholic Patriarch of Antioch , Ignatius Joseph III. Younan , ordained him episcopally on April 16 that year . Co-consecrators were the retired Syrian archbishop of Baghdad , Athanase Matti Shaba Matoka , the titular archbishop of Tagritum , Jules Mikhael Al-Jamil , and his predecessor Basile Georges Casmoussa .
