The archeparchy Mosul of the Syrians ( Latin Archieparchia Mausiliensis Syrorum is) one with the Roman Catholic Church Uniate Syrian Catholic archeparchy based in Mosul in Iraq . The diocese was founded in 1790.
In July 2014, the bishopric in Mosul was set on fire by ISIS fighters during the 2014 Iraq crisis .
