The Bowyer Butte is an isolated and kliff like witnesses Mountain with nearly flat summit on the coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd lands . It rises 1085 m high with an extension of 5 km between the lower sections of the Johnson and Venzke glaciers .
Scientists from the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) discovered and photographed him on a flyover in December 1940. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after Donald W. Bowyer, a meteorologist for the United States Antarctic Program at Byrd Station that year 1962.
