The Venzke Glacier is a wide glacier on the Hobbs coast of the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . It flows northward between Bowyer Butte and Perry Range into the Getz Ice Shelf .
Scientists from the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) discovered and photographed the glacier during an overflight in December 1940. The United States Geological Survey mapped it using its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1959 and 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1974 after Norman Charles Venzke (1927–2013) of the United States Coast Guard , commanding officer on USCGC Northwind in Antarctic waters between 1972 and 1973 and ship's officer on icebreakers in several other Operation Deep Freeze campaigns.
