geography

River course

The river has its source around ten kilometers northeast of the small town of Bullyan in the northern Bobby Range . From there it first flows southwest to Many Peaks, where it turns its course to the north. It passes Castle Tower National Park and forms Lake Awoonga to the north , a reservoir that is about 30 kilometers south of the coastal town of Gladstone and provides it with drinking water. He leaves the reservoir again heading northeast, crosses under the Bruce Highway at Riverview and flows into the Coral Sea between the small towns of Boyne Island and Tannum Stands , around 15 kilometers southeast of Gladstone .
