The Bräuberg ( 420  m ) is a mountain near Donaustauf , Regensburg district , Bavaria in the Bavarian Forest on the Danube .

Today the Walhalla is enthroned on the Bräuberg . The Bavarian King Ludwig I , together with the architect Leo von Klenze , chose the Bräuberg as the building site for the Walhalla. The foundation stone for the "Temple of Fame" was laid on October 18, 1830. In 1842, the Walhalla in the form of a marble Greek temple was completed.
